Although the Chinese business iCar began with a low-slung GT design, its lineup is obviously centered toward EVs with a tough appearance. The Chery-owned firm unveiled the V23 off-roader, the X25 minivan, and the 03T SUV after releasing its first production model, the iCar 03 SUV, in early 2024.

The iCar 03T, which was built on the standard 03 but with many improvements to improve its off-road capabilities, made its premiere at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show. The larger and wider alloy wheels, the reworked bumpers that are supposed to increase the off-road angles, and the wide fender extensions with additional intakes next to the LED headlamps are the highlights of the appearance.

With the accessories, the 03T is slightly larger than the 03, with dimensions of 1,916 mm (75.4 inches) broad, 1,741 mm (68.5 inches) tall, and 4,432 mm (174.5 inches) long. The wheelbase is the same at 2,715 mm (106.9 inches) as the iCar 03. The ground clearance has been increased to 200 mm (7.9 inches).

The chassis and available powertrains are unchanged. This indicates that the 03T will be offered with two different AWD setups, one with a single electric motor that produces 181 horsepower (135 kW / 184 PS) and the other with two motors that combine to provide 275 horsepower (205 kW / 279 PS).

The iCar X25 is the second model that was unveiled to the public in Beijing. Its unorthodox design blends off-road vehicle bumpers and the higher stance and single-box dimensions of a futuristic minivan. It is difficult to imagine that this electric car will be put into production because the final product resembles a space exploration vehicle.

Extremely short overhangs and plenty of ground clearance suggest excellent off-road potential, particularly when paired with an AWD drivetrain and the appropriate tires. The X25 is perfect for camper conversions because of its large wheelbase, tall body, and flat floor, which all contribute to a roomy cabin with “flexible seat combinations.” Although the corporation withheld technical details, it did state that the foundation will provide “excellent handling and stability.”

The iCar V23 is the third model to appear on the show. This one successfully blends design elements from well-known off-road vehicles, such as the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, the Land Rover Defender, and the vintage Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40. iCar unveiled a stylish version of the V23 in Beijing, complete with a green tint and black steelies fitted with gripping tires. With a 500 km (311 mi) range promised by a battery pack purchased from CATL, the 4,220 mm (166.1 in) long EV will be offered in RWD and AWD configurations. It also boasts Level 2+ ADAS functionality.

iCar intends to introduce eight new models by 2026, segmenting its inventory into three categories, in an effort to draw in younger consumers in China. The X series will include single-box minivans, the V series will have an off-road aesthetic, and the 0 Series will be concentrated on “exquisite technology.”
