The Rebel Ridge premiere date for Netflix’s next action movie, starring Aaron Pierre from Mufasa, has been revealed.

Terry Richmond, sometimes known as Pierre, arrives in Shelby Springs with the straightforward but crucial goal of posting bail for his cousin and rescuing him from grave danger. But when Terry’s life savings are wrongfully taken by the police, he has no choice but to confront local police commander Sandy Burnne and his combat-ready squad. Terry discovers a surprising friend in Summer McBride, the local clerk, and the two get caught up in a pervasive plot in the outlying township. In order to free his family from the department’s control, preserve Summer, and break the department’s grasp on the community as the situation becomes lethal, Terry will have to draw on his mysterious past.

Written and directed by Jeremy Saulnier (Hold the Dark), the movie is billed as a “deeply human yet high-velocity thriller.” John Boyega, a former Star Wars actor, was supposed to be in charge of the production before Pierre was cast. But in the middle of filming, Boyega was forced to leave the film for “family reasons.”

Aside from Don Johnson, the picture features Zsané Jhé, Dana Lee, Steve Zissis, Emory Cohen, AnnaSophia Robb, David Denman, and James Cromwell. Anish Savjani, Neil Kopp, Vincent Savino, and Jeremy Saulnier are the producers; executive producers are Daniel Jason Heffner, Macon Blair, and Louise Lovegrove.
