All India Chess Masters Mumbai FIDE Classical Tournament has been won by Arvind Iyer, who defeated Darsh Shetty in a fierce match with seven points in eight rounds.
Darsh and Arvind actually finished with seven points apiece, but it was the former who prevailed on super Buchholz tie-breaks.
International Master Vikramaditya Kulkarni finished third with 6.5 points, while Shetty finished as the runner-up.
A monetary award of Rs. 40,000 was given to the winner.
The Best Player in the women’s division was determined to be Woman Candidate Master Kriti Mayur Patel, with Reya Banker and Pradeepa Jayapal coming in second and third, respectively.
In the veteran’s division, Vinod Chaturvedi took first place, followed by Ashok Govindrao Patil and Guru Prasad Patil in second and third place, respectively.
