Popular actress Taapsee Pannu recently talked about how she turned down big-time production chances because she didn’t want to go to late-night parties.
Taapsee Pannu’s choice of roles has helped her make a name for herself in the film industry. She is currently concentrating on promoting Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba, her coming film. The actress talked about her challenges establishing connections with Bollywood’s powerful circles in a recent interview. She stressed that not wanting to go to late-night parties hurts her chances of getting cast in high-profile movies.
Speaking honestly about the “harsh reality” of Bollywood camps, Taapsee Pannu:
Popular Bollywood actress Taaposee Pannu revealed in a recent interview with Zoom that she was told to message powerful people to get invited to their birthday parties. But she was unable to accomplish it because it was not in line with her personality. She also gets up early, so she was unable to remain up late. The actress feels awkward at these events because she doesn’t smoke or drink. Taapsee would rather go to parties with her close friends where she may dance and eat. “I can’t party with people I don’t know well; main kya baat karungi (what will I talk about)?” the actress said. People don’t call me as much since they know I won’t show up. However, not partying doesn’t mean I won’t get job.
Having said that, Taapsee said that going to parties gives one access to Bollywood circles. She added that she gets inspiration from other actresses in the industry. She conveyed admiration for Anushka Sharma’s career choices as well as Priyanka Chopra’s achievements. “Observe Deepika Padukone; she is still dealing with controversy, but notice how skillfully she navigates this,” the speaker remarked. We could say that Alia Bhatt has had everything handed to her, but she is seizing the moment when it comes to her.
Bollywood, she disclosed, has its own groups. The heart of the nepotism problem is getting access. Although she doesn’t think she wouldn’t be rejected for a big-budget movie role, her name might not be as well-known as that of performers connected to particular camps, so she might not be suggested for the job. “There are Bollywood camps,” she declared. The difficulty gaining access is the subject of our discussion regarding nepotism. No one would degrade me in a high-budget movie production by saying I’m not the right match, but I might not get the job because other actors who belong to camps will be recommended for the role and my name won’t be brought up.
“The harsh reality is that big films are about access, and I don’t have that access to get into that room,” the actress continued. She went on to say that parties are a way to get into specific organizations. Opportunities for cooperation develop when people interact with one another and make friends. She does, however, find going to late-night gatherings to be a difficult and demanding procedure. She went on, “I can’t keep going. I’m not like that. I might as well go the more difficult route and produce a large number of films and excellent work. I can’t afford to work poorly since I can’t access the camps to make up for a poor film, which would cost me a lot of money.
