The much awaited movie “Indian 2,” starring Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan, opens in theaters on July 12. Shankar is the director of this follow-up to the similarly named 1996 vigilante hit movie. As a lead-up to the sequel, “Indian” will be re-released, as I have already informed you.

Tomorrow will see the release of the trailer. The Thalapathy Vijay film “Ghilli,” which AM Rathnam just re-released, set a new record for re-releases across all of India. This is worth noticing.

Senapathy, a former freedom fighter who became a vigilante, and his son Chandru, a dishonest government employee, will be portrayed by Kamal Haasan. Manisha Koirala, Sukanya, Goundamani, Senthil, and numerous other actors also feature in the movie. AR Rahman composed the music for the first segment, and Anirudh composed the music for the second.
