A highly awaited Tamil film of 2024 was Vetrimaaran’s Viduthalai Part 2, which starred Soori, Vijay Sethupathi, and Manju Warrier. Zee5 will be the first streaming service to release the politically contentious movie, which debuted in theaters on December 20, in January 2025.

Plot and cast of Viduthalai Part 2

Both Part 1 and Part 2 of Viduthalai, which follows a rookie police officer who must apprehend Perumal Vaathiyar, the head of the people’s movement, were directed by renowned filmmaker Vetrimaaran. Vijay Sethupathi portrayed Vaathiyar, while Soori portrayed the recently hired police officer. Vaathiyar’s capture marks the conclusion of the first half of the duology, while the second section explores his past and shows the leader’s ascent.

Soori played the main character in the first section, while Vijay Sethupathi had a lengthy cameo as the head of the people’s movement. In the second portion, Manju Warrier plays Mahalakshmi, a fellow comrade and Perumal’s wife.

Along with Bhavani Sre, Rajiv Menon, Ilavarasu, and Balaji Sakthivel, among others, the ensemble cast of Viduthalai Part 2 includes well-known actors Gautham Vasudev Menon and Anurag Kashyap. Ilaiyaraaja’s music is used in the movie.
