World Wrestling Championships 2025 will take place from September 13 to September 21 in Zagreb, Croatia. 30 gold medals in the Greco-Roman, women’s freestyle, and men’s freestyle competitions will be up for grabs. A full-strength team from India will compete, with one representative in each weight class.
Aman returned after taking a hiatus during the Olympics and won gold in the Ulaanbaatar Ranking Series. The third-seeded freestyler will compete in the competitive weight class in hopes of winning his first Worlds medal.
Udit, ranked fifth, will also compete for the podium after winning two golds in the Ranking Series and an Asian silver.
Other well-known figures on the Indian team are Tokyo 2020 semi-finalist Deepak Punia, a 2019 Worlds silver medallist, Asian silver medallist Udit Gulia, and Sujeet Kalkal, who competes in Bajrang Punia’s 65kg class.
Asian champion Manisha Bhanwala (62 kg), U20 world champion Tapasya Gahlawat (57 kg), and two-time U20 world medallist Priya Malik (76 kg) will be the top Indian women wrestlers competing in the tournament.
