Hyundai debuted a number of changes for the 2025 Ioniq 5 N in Korea, improving the performance-focused EV’s usability and appeal. Hyundai included software-derived enhancements and increased the number of standard features, although there are no mechanical or visual modifications from the previous generation.

The improved “N Drift Optimizer” system, which now provides 10 adjustable stages of drift assistance appropriate for varying driving skill levels, is the standout feature of the model year update. Hyundai claims that the technology is now more effective since it is now more adept at detecting and evaluating drift conditions.

To enable the driver to “drift more freely,” the final stage, dubbed Pro, reduces the effect of the Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) and linearly modifies torque. As with all drift-related technologies in contemporary cars, this one should obviously only be used on the racetrack.

This version of the “N e-Shift” feature, which previously only worked in Normal, Sport, and N modes, now includes an Eco mode as well as virtual gear shifts. It also got “downshift memory” and “downhill assist” features, the latter of which acts similarly to ICE-powered vehicles’ engine braking.

The “N Launch Control” system’s preparatory sound, which is constantly on even when “N Active Sound +” is turned off, is a less noticeable modification.

The sole available trim of the Ioniq 5 N now gets upgraded standard equipment for the 2025 model year, including technologies like interior V2L, intelligent headlights, walk-away lock function, second-row safety windows, and vibration warning on the steering wheel.

With the eco-friendly automobile tax credit included, the 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N starts at ₩77,000,000 ($57,678) in Korea. It’s likely that the new improvements will soon be available in other markets.
