Arriving in the fall of 2024, the 2025 Kia Carnival will have a new hybrid powertrain, upgraded features, and a revised appearance, all at a higher price. The base model of the seven-seater MPV now starts at $36,500 (about 30.45 lakh), while the previous edition of the Kia Carnival started at $33,600 (about 28.03 lakh) in the US.
With the new Carnival, the South Korean automaker has attempted to carry out an all-around facelift, revamping the front end and giving the MPV a much more chiseled appearance.
Fitting with Kia’s current design motif, the Carnival has a bigger, more boxy front grille supported by narrow LED headlights on either end. This also applies to the back, where the tail lamps have been merged into a single, thin strip that runs beneath the rear window, replacing the softer lines of the previous model with sharper ones. The EX version has 19-inch glossy black alloy wheels installed right out of the factory. The higher SX can be ordered with the limited-edition Dark Edition, which has darker exterior trim details and 19-inch dark alloy wheels.
Inside the MPV, more styling has been added, with the dashboard being taken over by an integrated dual-screen infotainment system and instrument cluster. A 12.3-inch infotainment screen that is located above the AC vents is standard on all models. Kia gives the SX and SX Prestige versions a curved 12.3-inch screen behind the wheel, for a total of 24 inches of display on the dash, in contrast to the majority of variants’ 4.2-inch screen instrument cluster. Additionally, an integrated 14.6-inch rear seat entertainment screen is included with these two models. The SX Prestige, which starts at $50,600 (about 42.22 lakh) and is the top model in the line, comes with an 11-inch Head-Up Display.
There are two powertrain options available for the 2025 Kia Carnival. The only engine available for the lowest LX grade is a 3.5-liter V6 GDI that generates 287 horsepower and 352 Nm of torque. An eight-speed automatic gearbox is connected to it. The upgraded models also come with the brand-new hybrid drivetrain, which consists of a 1.5-liter turbo-hybrid engine mated to a 54 kWh battery and a six-speed automated transmission. Around 242 horsepower and 367 Nm of torque will be produced by the Kia Carnival HEV powertrain, which is available for all models starting with LXS. Which powertrain will be available in India is still up in the air. The least expensive way to experience the hybrid powertrain is with the LXS model, which starts at $38,500 (about 32.11 lakh).
The interior of the 2025 Carnival has cloth upholstery, and starting with the LXS model, the MPV can be expanded to an eight-seater. VIP Lounge Seats with motorized headrests and footrests are available in the second row on the SX Prestige model. Additionally, the VIP seats include a one-touch relaxation mode that allows seated passengers to fully recline.
Driver assistance features including cruise control, lane guidance assistance, and collision avoidance systems are included with the Carnival. It also has a blindspot monitor and a 360-degree camera installed. Uncamouflaged MPV models have been seen being tested by spies on Indian streets, while Kia has not made any official statements on the matter. It is anticipated that the 2025 Kia Carnival would debut in India in the fall of 2024.
