With the opening of a new 15-floor headquarters in Bengaluru’s Minsk Square, Apple, the most valuable company in the world, is increasing its footprint in the nation.
“Apple is excited to open our new office in the center of Bengaluru as part of our expansion into India. Many of our brilliant teams, including those in operations, customer service, hardware and software engineering, and more, are already based in this lively city. This office was designed to encourage connection, creativity, and invention, much like everything else we do at Apple. It’s an excellent place for our teams to work together,” the business said in a statement.
Due to its location in Bengaluru’s Minsk Square, the new office will be close to several structures, including Cubbon Park, the High Court, the Vidhana Soudha (home of the Karnataka state assembly), and the Chinnaswamy cricket stadium. Apple selected the Cubbon Park metro station as its location in order to improve staff accessibility.
The 15-Floor building can accommodate up to 1,2000 workers and includes a dedicated lab space in addition to places for wellness and cooperation. Apple employees may also enjoy food and beverages at Caffe Macs. As per Apple, the interior features locally sourced elements for the walls and flooring, such as wood, stone, and fabric. Additionally, the office uses a lot of native flora.
According to reports, the new workplace aims for a Platinum LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) title and is powered entirely by renewable energy. That is the highest certification level offered by the LEED program, which certifies green buildings. According to Apple, since 2020, all corporate activities have operated carbon neutrally, and since 2018, all Apple facilities have operated entirely on renewable energy.
Currently celebrating Apple’s 25 years in India, the new office will add to the company’s current corporate office presence in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Gurugram. The Bengaluru-based Apple staff members handle several aspects of the company’s operations, such as customer care, services, hardware, software, and more. The company employs about 3,000 people nationwide in total.
