Adobe announces new AI-powered features, faster editing, and more features for Premiere Pro and After Effects

Adobe is revolutionizing video editing with smarter, faster, and more efficient tools designed to enhance creativity and streamline workflows. With AI-powered advancements now integrated into Premiere Pro 25.2 and After Effects 25.2, professionals can expect significant improvements in automation, color management, and motion graphics capabilities.

Among the most notable updates is Generative Extend in Premiere Pro, which allows users to seamlessly add missing frames or extend clips in 4K resolution. This feature is particularly useful when a video segment is too short or when smooth transitions are needed. Initially available for free, Adobe plans to introduce a pricing model for this tool in the coming months.

Another key innovation is Media Intelligence, an AI-driven search function that enables instant video retrieval by analyzing objects, locations, camera angles, and spoken words. Since this feature operates entirely on the user’s local device, Adobe ensures that footage will not be used for AI training.

Color grading has also been refined with the introduction of Premiere Color Management, which simplifies the process by automatically normalizing log and raw footage to SDR or HDR without requiring LUTs. This enhancement improves dynamic range and color accuracy, making professional-grade color correction more accessible. Additionally, six new presets, including Wide Gamut options, provide high-fidelity color representation.

Expanding its automatic captioning tool, Adobe now supports over 27 languages, with an update allowing editors to display multiple caption tracks at once. This makes it easier to create multilingual content without additional post-production steps.

Performance improvements are also a major highlight, particularly for users working on Apple’s M-series chips. Premiere Pro 25.2 now boasts up to four times faster performance, reducing rendering, playback, and export times.

Meanwhile, After Effects 25.2 introduces AI-powered updates tailored to motion designers and VFX artists. Enhancements to the caching system enable full-sequence previews by efficiently utilizing RAM and local storage, ensuring smooth playback of longer compositions.

Adobe has also expanded its 3D motion design tools, bringing new features that allow compositions to reflect real-world lighting from background plates or video files. Additionally, HDR monitoring now supports enhanced visuals on compatible displays, improving vibrancy, contrast, and brightness for a more immersive editing experience.

These new AI-driven capabilities and workflow improvements will be available as part of the latest updates to Premiere Pro and After Effects, reinforcing Adobe’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of video editing and motion graphics.
