The CE 04, the company’s first electric scooter to hit the Indian market, has been launched by BMW Motorrad India. At Rs. 14.90 lakh (ex-showroom), it is extremely expensive.

Thanks to a collaboration between TVS and the brand, Hosur has become the export hub for the BMW CE 04 electric scooter. In many aspects, the CE 04 adheres faithfully to its basic shape while boasting a futuristic design philosophy. A 15 kW permanent magnet, liquid-cooled synchronous e-motor powers the CE-04. It can produce up to 41 horsepower and 61 Nm of torque at its highest power output.

Additionally, it has an 8.9 kWh Li-ion battery pack that contributes to the stated 130 km of riding range on a single charge. A 2.3 kW home charger can fully recharge a depleted battery from zero to eighty percent in three hours and thirty minutes. In global markets, the battery may be fully recharged with the optional rapid charger in just one hour and forty minutes.

The German brand says that the CE 04 can reach a top speed of 120 kmph and accelerate from 0 to 50 kmph in 2.6 seconds. The scooter has a steel double-loop chassis and two 265 mm discs—one for the front and one for the rear—for stopping. ABS provides assistance for both brakes. The e-scooter has a ton of features as well.

Four ride modes (Eco, Rain, Road, and Dynamic) and a 10.25-inch TFT display with navigation are among the key features. A USB Type-C charger is also included. It also features dynamic traction control, front and rear 15-inch wheels, and an optional ABS Pro system that is sold abroad.

The BMW CE 04 has a single-sided swingarm with a directly hinged suspension strut at the back and a single-bridge telescopic fork up front. Bookings for the BMW CE 04 are now being accepted, with customer deliveries scheduled to start as early as September 2024.
