Hyundai Motor has officially unveiled the facelifted version of its flagship three-row SUV, the Alcazar, ahead of its highly anticipated launch. The automaker released three images showcasing the updated model, while simultaneously opening bookings for the 2024 Alcazar. Set to hit the Indian market on September 9, this marks Hyundai’s second major release of the year, following the introduction of the new Creta in January. Prospective buyers can reserve their Alcazar for a booking amount of ₹25,000 through Hyundai’s online platform or at dealerships across the country.

Originally launched in 2022 as Hyundai’s first three-row SUV in India, the Alcazar quickly established itself in the market, with around 75,000 units sold to date. The refreshed version will continue to offer both six-seat and seven-seat configurations, allowing it to maintain its competitive edge against rivals like the Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari in the three-row SUV segment.

There will be four different versions of the 2024 Alcazar to choose from: Executive, Prestige, Platinum, and Signature. Hyundai has also expanded the color options, introducing a new Robust Emerald Matte finish among the nine exterior color choices.

In terms of design, the updated Alcazar draws considerable inspiration from the latest generation Creta. The front end of the SUV now features a bold new look, complete with H-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs) and Quad Beam LED headlights. The grille has been redesigned for a more aggressive appearance, while the front skid plates have been enhanced for added ruggedness. The side profile of the Alcazar has been given a muscular update with new character lines and 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, contributing to its robust stance. At the rear, the SUV receives connected LED taillights, a redesigned tailgate, an integrated spoiler with a stop lamp, and refreshed bumper and skid plates.

The facelifted Alcazar also sees significant upgrades in terms of features. Hyundai has equipped the SUV with over 70 connected car features, mirroring the advanced infotainment system and digital driver display found in the new Creta. Additionally, the Alcazar will offer wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, seat ventilation, and other convenience features. Safety has been a priority in the updated model, with Hyundai including 40 standard safety features among a total of 70 safety enhancements. Notably, the facelifted Alcazar is expected to incorporate Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) technology, first introduced in the new Creta.

Under the hood, the Alcazar will continue to offer two engine options. The 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine, paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), delivers 158 bhp of power and 253 Nm of torque. The diesel option is a 1.5-liter U2 CRDi engine, available with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission, producing 113 bhp and 250 Nm of torque.

Pricing for the current Alcazar ranges from ₹16.77 lakh to ₹21.28 lakh (ex-showroom), with the top-end Signature (O) seven-seater diesel automatic variant sitting at the upper end of the spectrum. The facelifted model is expected to carry a premium of at least ₹50,000 over the existing prices when it launches in September.
