Shraddha Kapoor may soon be collaborating again with Maddock Films, as reports suggest she is in advanced talks with producer Dinesh Vijan following her recent visit to the production house’s Mumbai office on May 26. The meeting, which also involved director Laxman Uttekar-best known for his upcoming historical drama Chhaava-has sparked industry buzz about a promising new project. Sources close to Pinkvilla claim that Shraddha has expressed a strong interest in the script that was discussed during the session and has given her first approval to join.

If finalized, this would be Uttekar’s next directorial effort after Chhaava and mark a fresh collaboration between the trio of Vijan, Uttekar, and Kapoor. The film is believed to be inspired by a Marathi literary work, with Shraddha likely to portray a character steeped in Maharashtrian culture. Although specifics about the storyline are under wraps, early indications suggest a culturally rich narrative aligned with Maddock’s focus on distinctive storytelling. There’s also speculation about an A-list male lead being considered to star opposite Shraddha, though no official confirmation has emerged yet.

Despite being in the early stages, the chances of this project moving forward are strong, particularly given Shraddha’s positive rapport with the Maddock team and her previous successful outings with the production house. Riding high on the back-to-back success of his recent projects, which together have made over ₹500 crore, Dinesh Vijan is renowned for his dedication to content-driven filmmaking and innovative concepts. The story pitched to Shraddha reportedly captures the essence of Maharashtra, resonating with Vijan and Uttekar’s shared vision of telling unique, rooted tales.

Simultaneously, the filmmaker duo is also working on a massive three-hero venture targeting a 2026 or 2027 launch with top-tier Indian stars. In the meantime, Thama, which stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna, is slated to be released on Diwali 2025 by Maddock Films, expanding its horror-comedy world. If all goes well, this untitled venture could become Shraddha Kapoor’s next big-screen appearance after Stree 2, especially since her earlier discussions with Tumbbad director Anil Rahi Barve did not come to fruition.
