Global Super League 2025, the Guyana Amazon Warriors overcame the Hobart Hurricanes on Wednesday to secure a spot in the competition’s final, where they will take on the unbeaten Rangpur Riders of Bangladesh. The Riders have a match left and will play Central Districts of New Zealand on Thursday to wrap up the league campaign.
After suffering a narrow defeat to the reigning champion Rangpur Riders in their season opener, the hosts, Guyana, have now won three straight tournament games. In the final, the local team will try to get revenge on the Riders.
Rangpur will now try to win back-to-back trophies in Guyana after defeating Victoria in the tournament’s 2024 final. The Rangpur team has won all of their games tight and has been able to close off games in their favor under the leadership of Bangladeshi wicketkeeper Nurul Hasan. Kyle Mayers, who has experience playing on West Indian surfaces, has been leading Rangpur’s batting.
