Google Vids is a video-making app that was released in April and uses artificial intelligence (AI) to give users the resources they need to realize their ideas. The app wasn’t accessible to everyone until lately, despite being formally released some months ago.
As part of Google Workspace, the search engine giant’s portfolio of products, Google Vids should be accessible for a few Workspace editions at first. Utilizing the power of Gemini, Google Vids is specifically made to assist individuals who work in marketing, learning and development, customer support, and project operations.
With Google Vids, team leaders can make movies to distribute announcements and updates throughout the organization, and customer service may enhance support by adding videos to help center articles.
Learning and development teams can use the new productivity software to provide employee education and training on a large scale. Additionally, marketers can utilize internal films to communicate campaign and event recaps, and project management teams can use them to share meeting recaps, business updates, and report share outs.
With the vast array of use-case-based templates available on Google Vids, making a new film is a breeze. Additionally, if you don’t want to develop your own scripts, Gemini offers suggestions via “Help me create.” Users can also add a voiceover to the app by utilizing a teleprompter to record their own voice or by selecting one of Gemini’s pre-recorded AI voices.
In order to take advantage of all the AI-oriented perks offered by Google Vids, you must be subscribed to one of the following Google Workspace editions:
Business Standard and Plus
Enterprise Standard and Plus
Essentials, Enterprise Essentials and Enterprise Essentials Plus
Education Plus
Additionally, Google Vids will be available to users that have a Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, or Education Premium add-on.
Reports state that until at least December 31, 2025, users will be able to utilize AI-powered features in Google Vids, such as “Help me create” and AI voiceovers. There may be usage restrictions for certain AI-powered services starting in 2026.
Vids’ deployment began on November 7 and will take roughly two weeks for everyone to download the app.
