Hyundai debuted a new A-segment sub-compact EV, the all-electric Inster, at the 2024 Busan International Mobility Show. According to WLTP standards, the Inster has a targeted driving range of up to 355 km and supports quick charging. Its design concept is an evolution of the Casper, which debuted in Korea in 2021.

The Hyundai Inster has a longer wheelbase and body, which increases internal space and gives it a strong presence on the road. Its exterior design has a compact SUV profile with robust fenders, redesigned bumpers, a circuit board-style bumper, a noticeable skid plate, turn signals that are pixel-graphic, tail lamps, and a new LED daytime running light signature.

Customers may add LED projector headlights and a two-tone body with a black roof to customize the Hyundai Inster’s look. Depending on the selected specification, the available wheel options are 15-inch steel wheels with covers, 15-inch alloy wheels, or 17-inch alloy wheels. The Inster is furnished with a multitude of elements inside the cabin.

A 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment display with navigation and a wireless charging pad, customizable upper door trim garnishes, pixel theme-based graphics on the steering wheel, flat folding for all seats, a front bench seat option, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel are all included in the equipment list.

The Hyundai Inster’s second-row seats are split 50/50 and have sliding and reclining capabilities. Atlas White, Tomboy Khaki, Bijarim Khaki Matte, and Unbleached Ivory are among the available exterior color options. Additionally, new tints including Sienna Orange Metallic, Aero Silver Matte, Dusk Blue Matte, Buttercream Yellow Pearl, and Abyss Black Pearl are available.

There will be two-tone options for some exterior paint jobs with a black roof to contrast. There are three options for inside trim: complete cloth trim in Khaki Brown, Newtro Beige, and Black. Sustainable materials are used on the outside and inside. The outside is painted with a high-gloss black recyclable paint that uses recycled waste tire colorant in place of conventional carbon black pigment.

Bio-polypropylene made from sugarcane and recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET) from bottles are utilized inside. A 42 kWh battery pack is included with the Hyundai Inster as standard, although a 49 kWh Long-Range battery is an option. A single motor powers both models, with the base model providing 97 PS and the Long-Range model producing 115 PS. Additionally, both versions provide 147 Nm of torque.

With an estimated energy usage of 15.3 kWh per 100 km, the Long-Range model has a projected range of 355 km on a single charge, which is the highest of its class. The battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent capacity in around 30 minutes using a 120 kW DC charger. An 11 kW on-board charger is also included as standard.

With its internal and external Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capabilities, the Hyundai Inster can charge external devices at 110V or 220V and facilitate bi-directional charging without the need for extra gear. Customers can use or charge gadgets like electric scooters, bicycles, and camping gear with ease thanks to this function.

Advanced safety and driving assistance technologies including Blind-spot View Monitor (BVM), Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist Rear (PCA-R), Surround View Monitor (SVM), and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 1.5 are further highlights. Hyundai Digital Key 2 with NFC accessibility, a one-touch sunroof for increased convenience, and ambient lighting with 64 colors LEDs are all included in the inside.

To improve vision when parking, the ADAS Parking System combines a Rear-View Monitor (RVM) with Parking Distance Warning (PDW) Front and Rear. This summer, the Hyundai Inster will make its global debut in Korea before heading to Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific. The Inster family will grow with the introduction of the Inster Cross, a tough, outdoor-focused model.
