R Praggnanandhaa defeated Alireza Firouzja and Maxime Vachier-Lagrave in a tight tiebreak playoff to win the Superbet Chess Classic. After nine rounds, all three players had 5.5 points in the main competition, forcing a three-way tiebreak to determine the winner.

Prior to his tie with Levon Aronian, Praggnanandhaa was dominating the tournament; however, Firouzja and Vachier-Lagrave were able to overtake him by winning their last matches.

World Champion D Gukesh, the other Indian player, drew his final match against Fabiano Caruana and ended up in ninth place with four points.

Beginning on July 1, the SuperUnited Rapid & Blitz in Croatia will be the next Grand Chess Tour tournament. It will make use of the same strategy as the Poland leg, which Vladimir Fedoseev won.
