A recent revelation by an engineering student from Noida, Isha Singh, has garnered attention as she shared her journey to securing a highly sought-after internship at Google. The third-year computer science student described the achievement as the result of dedicated preparation and perseverance. Singh, who will be interning as a software engineering intern in the summer of 2025, detailed the rigorous assessment and interview process she underwent before receiving the offer from the tech giant.
Singh began her story on X (formerly Twitter) by announcing her success: “Finally, got an offer from @Google for software engineering intern 2025. Here goes the thread for how it all happened.” Her journey started in June when the training and placement cell at her Noida college sent out an email inviting students to apply for Google’s summer internship program. Singh applied and soon received an invitation to attend a virtual career talk.
The real challenge began with the online assessment in July, which Singh successfully navigated. This was followed by two rounds of interviews, each testing her problem-solving abilities and technical knowledge. Reflecting on the experience, she shared that the first interview, which lasted 50 minutes, involved two questions focused on data structures and algorithms, which she rated as “medium to hard” in difficulty. The second interview, which lasted 45 minutes, also concentrated on technical topics, specifically priority queues, and included a follow-up question on the same subject.
Singh mentioned that only those who fared well in the first round will move on to the second round because the interviews were elimination rounds. The final results were announced the following day by the college’s placement cell, and Singh described the moment she saw her name on the list as an incredible culmination of her hard work and preparation.
She expressed her astonishment and joy at achieving this milestone, especially considering it was her first interview experience. Singh’s post quickly went viral, attracting almost 3,000 likes and 136 comments. Many users congratulated her, while others inquired about the challenges she faced during the selection process and the resources she used to prepare.
In response to these questions, Singh actively engaged with users, sharing insights into her preparation journey and the skills she focused on to secure the internship at Google.
