Around the world, the subcompact SUV market is expanding. Although the Nissan Magnite has recently had a little makeover in India, the business has announced that it will be making the vehicle available in more foreign regions.

Both RHD and LHD versions of the upgraded Nissan Magnite will be offered. As a result, it can now be sold in 47 additional foreign markets, bringing the total to nearly 65. Production will continue at Nissan’s Chennai facility in India, where it has so far produced more than 150,000 Magnite devices.

It was time for the mid-lifecycle facelift for the 2020 model year compact SUV. Since modifications are restricted to particular bodywork sections, the external design is recognizable. The biggest change is the larger skid plate and the wider, redesigned grille.

Nissan boasts about its “lightsaber-style” LED headlight indications and its smoked LED taillights with honeycomb designs, however only the latter are brand-new. The SUV stance is maintained by the functional roof rails and the 205 mm (8.1 inches) of ground clearance, even though the Magnite has a sub-4 m (157.5 inch) footprint.

The most notable interior modification is the optional Brownish Orange leather-like upholstery on the doors, dashboard, and seats, which raises the vehicle’s perceived quality. The remaining features remain the same, such as the 8-inch infotainment display with Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity and the 7-inch digital instrument cluster.

The equipment can include an air ionizer, multicolored ambient lighting, a dashcam, and an Arkamys sound system, depending on the trim level. Regarding security, the SUV comes with six airbags as standard but no ADAS.

The Renault Triber and Kiger, as well as the Nissan Magnite, are all powered by the CMF-A+ architecture. Naturally aspirated and turbocharged 1.0-liter three-cylinder engines with a power output of 71 horsepower (53 kW / 72 PS) and 99 horsepower (74 kW / 101 PS) respectively are among the carry-over powertrain options.

The stock transmission for both engines is a five-speed manual. While the more powerful version comes with an X-Tronic CVT, the base mill also has an EZ-Shift automatic available. Nissan Magnite models come only with front-wheel drive.

Similar to its predecessor, the facelifted Nissan Magnite is priced in India between RS 5.99 and 11.50 Lakhs ($7,130 and 13,685).
