The release dates for the restored edition of Wes Craven’s 1984 horror movie, starring Robert Englund, on Blu-ray and 4K have been announced by Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment in honor of the film’s 40th anniversary.

Starting on October 1, 4K Ultra HD versions of the remastered version of A Nightmare on Elm Street will be sold on various digital platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, AppleTV, Google Play, Fandango at Home, and others. Next, on October 15, it will be made available for purchase both online and in-store at major stores as a 4K UHD Blu-ray Disc.

Craven wrote and directed the movie. Englund played the iconic horror figure Freddy Krueger, leading the cast. Along with Ronee Blakely as Marge Thompson, Johnny Depp as Glen Lantz, Nick Corri as Rod Lane, Amanda Wyss as Tina Gray, John Saxon as Don Thompson, Heather Langenkamp as Nancy Thompson, and Lin Shaye from Insidious made a cameo as a teacher. As of this writing, the movie has a 95% Tomatometer rating and is still listed as Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.
