Tata Motors is putting the Curvv.ev through extensive testing in advance of the electric vehicle’s release in India. Once again, testing of the next model has been observed, but this time at a charging station. The next significant product introduction for the Indian automaker in the nation will be the electrified Curvv. The Curvv will be sold in two variants: an electric vehicle (EV) and an internal combustion engine (ICE); the EV model will go on sale in the second half of this year, and the ICE type a few months later. In case you missed it, the petrol-powered Tata Curvv made its premiere at the 2023 Auto Expo after being shown as a concept car in 2022. Notably, the production-spec version of the Curvv was unveiled at the inaugural Bharat Mobility Global Expo a few months ago. Some intriguing elements are shown in the most recent spy photos of the EV.
Tata Curvv EV: Important Information
The most interesting thing about the spy shot is where the charging outlet is said to be located on Tata Motors’ future electric car. Like the new Punch.ev, the Curvv.ev will have a charging plug on the front, under the LED light bar. The flap will also bear the Tata Motors insignia. On the left rear fender are the charging facilities for the company’s other EVs.
The front fascia is visible beneath the clamshell-shaped hood and has a full-width LED light bar, split LED headlamp cluster, squared-off wheel arches, a noticeable lower grille section with many vertical slats, and a sharply sloped front windshield. One of the key design elements of the Tata Curvv EV will be its roofline, which resembles a coupe. Additional external features include a spacious boot, full-width LED tail lamps, and alloy wheels with a sporty appearance. The midsize SUV coupe’s rivals include the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV, Maruti Suzuki eVX, Citroen Basalt EV, and its Toyota counterpart. Using the Acti.ev platform, it will be the second Tata model developed.
Interior and Safety Features of the Tata Curvv EV
Although they don’t offer much information, the spy photographs also revealed the Curvv.ev’s inside. The pictures show that the Curvv.ev will have a digital instrument cluster, a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata emblem, and a sizable 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen. Level 2 ADAS, automatic air conditioning, a 360-degree camera system, a wireless smartphone charger, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, automated climate control, and capacitive controls are some additional comfort amenities that may come with the model.
To further guarantee passenger safety, a 360-degree camera, six airbags, and front and rear parking sensors are anticipated. Furthermore, the carmaker can decide to equip the Curvv with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), such as adaptive cruise control (AEB) and autonomous emergency braking.
Tata Curvv EV: Technical Specifications
The Curvv.ev’s specifications have not yet been made public by Tata Motors. Nonetheless, it did state that the model can travel about 500 kilometers between charges. There will probably be a range of powertrain and battery pack combinations in the upcoming EV. Later this year, the Curvv.ev is scheduled to go on sale. The Harrier EV, which was just on display at the Bharat Mobility Expo, will launch after it. The Harrier EV looks a lot like the ICE version from the outside, but it has a few EV-specific features that make it stand out.
