A new Autopark version has been made available by Tesla in Software Update 2024.2.11.
For some time now, Tesla has been developing a more feature-rich Autopark version, and CEO Elon Musk announced earlier this month that the function would be available soon.
After much waiting and anticipation from Tesla’s devoted owners and supporters, it suddenly seems to be here.
Not a Tesla App reports that Autopark’s latest version has been formally integrated by Tesla into the 2024.2.11 Software Update:
“Automatic parking, including parallel parking, is now possible for your car in certain areas.
Your display indicates possible parking spots when you’re traveling slowly. To indicate a space, Autopark displays a circular P sign; nevertheless, you are free to select any highlighted spot.
Press Start, let go of the steering wheel to allow the car to drive freely, and stop the car to begin parking. For further information, see the Owner’s Manual.
You must remain vigilant and prepared to move quickly, as with all Autopilot capabilities, even if you need to cancel Autopark.
Some of the capabilities of cars were lost a few years ago when Tesla began to phase out sensors in its cars and concentrate on its self-proclaimed Tesla Vision.
Without Ultra Sonic Sensors (USS), cars could not detect objects or distances from them, so features like Autopark and Smart Summon were not available.
Afterwards, Tesla used Park Assist with High-Fidelity in the Holiday Update, which was released around Christmas. It is compatible with Tesla Vision and USS vehicles.
Autopark was supposed to be renamed “Banish,” according to Musk.
