Following the merger of FCA and PSA, Stellantis has revealed the 2024 Ypsilon, Lancia’s first new vehicle release in a long time.
The High-Fidelity (HF) upgrade for the fourth-generation model will bring back the HF badge.
The fact that the Ypsilon HF is entirely electric distinguishes it from its predecessors.
Examining the Performance
A 237 horsepower front-mounted electric motor powers the Ypsilon HF, matching the output of other Stellantis vehicles such as the Abarth 600e and Junior Veloce from Alfa Romeo.
The common modular platform is shared by all of these models (CMF). The 54kWh battery pack, which powers the electric motor, is also utilized by Abarth and Alfa Romeo vehicles.
This little hatchback with front-wheel drive has remarkable acceleration, reaching 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds.
Lancia’s Future Models to Receive HF Treatment
It has been verified by Lancia that the High-Fidelity treatment would be extended to all next models.
This includes the Gamma and Delta automobile revivals that are scheduled to debut later this decade.
When the HF insignia initially debuted in 1960, it was reserved for members of a club who owned six or more cars.
The Fulvia Coupe HF was the first vehicle to have this iconic badge in 1966.
Ypsilon Rally 4 HF Marks Lancia’s Comeback to Rally Racing
The Ypsilon Rally 4 HF is a companion model to the Ypsilon HF.
This race version, in contrast to its electric predecessor, is propelled by a 1.2-liter, three-cylinder, turbocharged gasoline engine that generates 209 horsepower.
This is Lancia’s first rally race since a long break, and it was created to comply with FIA’s Group Rally4 rules.
