The new 5 Series in its long wheelbase format will make its debut in India on July 24, according to BMW India. Since the market for luxury cars is expanding, automakers—including BMW—are trying to capitalize on this trend by releasing international models one after the other. More legroom will be available in the second row, catering to chauffeur-driven clients.

A few months after the eighth generation 5 Series made its debut, the most recent model of the BMW 5 Series was unveiled in China in August 2023, along with the electric i5 LWB.The wheelbase length of 3,105 mm (110 mm longer) will make it 145 mm longer than the standard model.

Its dimensions in China are 5,175 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,520 mm in height. The India-spec version is likely to include some minor modifications. It will go hand in hand with the 3 Series Grand Limo that is sold domestically. It shares visual similarities with the normal 5 Series, including a similar illuminated front grille design, headlamps, and tail lamps.

Depending on the trim levels, the bumpers will have some small modifications, and the Hofmeister kink may gain an illuminated five emblem. Regarding performance, 2.0L turbocharged petrol and mildly hybrid diesel engine options are anticipated for the New BMW 5 Series. An eight-speed automatic transmission will come standard with both.

Just over a month ago, the BMW i5, its brother, was introduced in India with an ex-showroom price tag of Rs. 1.20 crore. Arriving in the nation on a fully equipped M60 xDrive avatar, it has an 83.9 kWh battery and a 601 horsepower e-motor that allow for a 516 km WLTP driving range.
