Raveena Tandon shared her first reactions to learning that she received a Padma Shri award with us in an exclusive interview.

“I am honored to receive this award in front of the nation, and I am grateful that my work was recognized. It was a truly lovely feeling. She continued, “My second thought was that I definitely wished my dad (Ravi Tandon) was here to see it.

Raveena responded when asked about meeting the President while she was at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, “Well, she was humble and extremely sweet. She remarked, “I am so happy and I have seen all your films,” as soon as I went to present her with the trophy. I’m pleased to present you with this award. The honor is entirely mine, Ma’am, as I receive the award from your hand, I said. I think there was some mutual admiration involved. She said that in such a kind and humble way. That truly brightened my day.

The actress said, “Then I turned around and saw the lovely faces of my husband (Anil Thadani) and my children (Rasha and Ranbir). It was all worthwhile, too. They were truly happy and filled with pride.
