largest martial arts organization in the world will be returning to Bangkok’s historic Lumpinee Stadium on May 16 for another exciting episode of its weekly Asia primetime event series, and fans will be in for a treat.
There will be 12 exciting bouts in three distinct combat sports disciplines at ONE Friday Fights 108, all of them are sure to be spectacular.
The strawweight Muay Thai fight between the new and old guards will feature 22-year-old sensation Kongchai Chanaidonmueang rematching battle-hardened veteran Chokpreecha PK Saenchai in the main event.
Kongchai, a former Rajadamnern Stadium Muay Thai World Champion known for his technical mastery, defeated Chokpreecha via hard-fought decision at ONE Friday Fights 87 in November of last year.
Even though Kongchai, 22, has demonstrated a lot of promise on the international scene, he will be eager to end his current two-fight losing streak going into this eagerly awaited rematch.
Chokpreecha, 34, is hoping to show that his initial defeat to Kongchai was an anomaly after a stunning stoppage victory at ONE Friday Fights 101 in March.
Before that, the youth movement in Thailand will be showcased in an exciting 126-pound Muay Thai bout between 20-year-old Lekkla BS Muaythai and adolescent sensation Brazil Aekmuangnon.
Lekkla is hoping to build on a highlight-reel knockout in his promotional debut last November, while Brazil has made five appearances at ONE Friday Fights and has amassed three impressive victories.
Further down the bill, rising Thai striker Kaenpitak NhongBangsai challenges Iranian knockout artist Majid Karimi, putting his 2-0 ONE Friday Fights record on the line.
The upset-minded Karimi, with his fearless style and surprising power, is driven to steal his opponent’s thunder, but Kaenpitak is aware that a third consecutive victory would put him closer to a six-figure deal and a place on ONE’s global roster.
In a match between unbeaten rising stars, Brazil’s Bismarck Gomes will square off against promotional rookie Ruslan Arslangereev in welterweight MMA action.
