The BYD Shark is equipped with a dual-motor plug-in hybrid drivetrain. The maximum power and torque produced by the front motor is 170kW, and the maximum power and torque produced by the rear motor is 150kW and 340Nm. The Shark can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 5.7 seconds thanks to this combination, and its maximum speed is 160 km/h.
With its 29.58kWh battery pack, the Shark has a 100-kilometer pure electric NEDC range. With the gasoline and electric mode combined, the NEDC range reaches a remarkable 840 kilometers. Additionally, BYD reports 7.5 liters of fuel used per 100 kilometers.
The BYD Shark has more than just muscle; it also has intelligence. With a modern 12-inch head-up display (HUD), a sizable 12.8-inch central touchscreen for infotainment, and a 10.25-inch LCD instrument panel, the cabin is designed with the driver in mind. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility guarantee smooth smartphone integration.
The Shark incorporates a 180° chassis camera and a 360° panoramic view camera system for increased safety and visibility. This combination reduces blind spots and facilitates maneuvering by providing an extensive 540° ultra-wide transparent panoramic image. With the BYD Shark, the carmaker enters the mid-sized pickup truck market, first focusing on markets outside of China.
