At the recent Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in Delhi, Mahindra & Mahindra, India’s largest SUV maker, showcased its latest electric vehicles (EVs), the BE 6 and XEV 9e. Built on Mahindra’s exclusive BEV platform, INGLO, these two innovative models garnered significant attention from international visitors, including delegates from Japan and Korea, who were spotted photographing the new electric SUVs. This sight sparked a deeply emotional response from Anand Mahindra, Chairman of the Mahindra Group. He reflected on how much the landscape has changed over the years, noting that when he first entered the automotive industry, it was Indian delegations who would travel to international auto shows to study and photograph advanced cars from the West. Mahindra shared his feelings on social media, expressing his pride in seeing countries known for their automotive prowess now showing interest in India’s electric vehicle innovations.

The BE 6 and XEV 9e impressed at the event with their cutting-edge designs and technology. The BE 6, which boasts a sporty look, and the XEV 9e, with its sleek SUV-coupe appearance, are available in various configurations, offering battery packs ranging from 59kWh to 79kWh. These configurations come with motor options of 170kW and 210kW, providing ranges of up to 683 km for the BE 6 and 656 km for the XEV 9e on a single charge. This marks a significant milestone for India, showcasing the country’s growing influence in the global electric vehicle market, where nations traditionally known for their automotive industries are now turning to India for inspiration.

The expo also saw the presence of Indian leadership, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who inaugurated the event. He highlighted India’s role in shaping the future of mobility, stressing the country’s commitment to green technologies such as electric vehicles, hydrogen fuel, and biofuels. Modi also emphasized India’s growing appeal for foreign investments in these sectors.

Mahindra’s push into the electric vehicle market is now validated by the overwhelming response at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo. The company aims to solidify its position in the rapidly growing EV segment by offering high-performance, affordable vehicles that combine functionality and innovative design. The BE 6 and XEV 9e are set to be launched soon, with bookings opening on February 14 and deliveries beginning in phases starting March.
