Bloomberg reports that Apple is stepping up its preparations for the retail release of the Vision Pro. According to reports, Apple has begun setting up Vision Pro training sessions for shop employees and has sent the necessary equipment for retail locations to handle Vision Pro upon its launch in “early 2024.”
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports in the most recent issue of his Power On newsletter that Apple has begun to arrange two-day Vision Pro training sessions for retail staff members. Apple will use this program to fly “a few people” for training from each Apple Store in the US to California. After that, those workers will return to their individual stores to teach the other staff members.
The training program is slated to start in the middle of January, and these seminars are already being organized. I’m informed that each employee will receive two days of training. It’s a risky undertaking because Apple doesn’t want to make a mistake with the complicated setup procedure for the Vision Pro.
Every user must have their equipment adjusted, and an inadequate fit could ultimately make using it unpleasant. Every action, including the way retail staff members approach customers and position the device on their heads, will be meticulously planned.
In addition, the report states that “new equipment to assemble and box up” Vision Pro headsets would soon be sent to Apple Stores. Gurman adds that even if buyers order Vision Pro online, “it increasingly sounds like” they will be “pushed to pick up the device at a store.”
Gurman revealed a few weeks ago that Apple had originally planned to deliver Vision Pro in January, but that date would not be met. He states in today’s newsletter that, “barring any unforeseen snags,” he “would expect a release to at least occur before March.”
