Because it integrates into the home in a way that is far more aesthetically pleasant than the boring black rectangles you get with ordinary TVs, Samsung’s The Frame TV has seen tremendous success in recent years. The Frame ably fulfills two roles as a design element: it has a matte screen, an adjustable bezel with fashionable wood alternatives, and a sizable collection of well-known artwork that shows on the display when it’s not in use. It is now the TV of choice for those who prefer not to have their TV appear like a technological device.
Samsung is bringing The Frame brand into 2024 with the release of the new Music Frame. This model is a music speaker rather than a TV in actuality. One may reasonably consider it to be Samsung’s take on the Sonos/IKEA Symfonisk frame speaker. The front of the device has a tangible print, which Samsung claims may be customized once orders are placed. (And sure, if you spend a lot of money on any of Samsung’s brand-new 2024 TVs, like that anti-glare OLED, you can use the Music Frame for surround sound music.)
“This customizable speaker seamlessly blends into its environment by camouflaging as a modern picture frame that can display art or photography,” Samsung’s press release says. “It features built-in woofers along with intelligent audio processing for a premium audio experience. Using Q-Symphony technology, it provides surround sound when paired with 2024 Samsung TVs and soundbars or can operate as a standalone wireless speaker.”
The cost of the Sonos/Ikea frame speaker is $259.99; the business has not yet disclosed the Music Frame’s price.
