Honor has formally unveiled the Magic 7 series and the Honor Watch 5. After being unveiled abroad earlier this year, this smartwatch is now making its debut in China.

Specifications of the Honor Watch 5

With a 60Hz refresh rate and a curved square 1.85-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 450 × 390, the Honor Watch 5 provides sharp, colorful images. It weighs only 35g (not including the strap) because to its reinforced polymer fiber back case and aluminum alloy front casing. The watch comes with silicone, leather, and composite woven strap options, and it fits wrist sizes between 150 and 200 mm.

The flagship feature of the Honor Watch 5 is its in-house Honor Polaris positioning system, which supports key positioning systems like BeiDou, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and QZSS and provides standalone GPS support. Even in crowded cities, precise tracking is guaranteed by the large-area antenna architecture. Along with sophisticated heart-monitoring features to detect possible health hazards, the watch also has one-touch health monitoring that covers important information like blood oxygen levels, heart rate, stress, and sleep patterns.

Calls, dual-phone alerts, and smooth LTE connections are all made possible by the watch’s eSIM connectivity. In addition, it has an IP68 grade for dust and water resistance, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC.

A 480mAh silicon-carbon anode battery with multiple battery life settings is included. It has a 10-day battery life in eSIM mode with dual-terminal capabilities. The battery life is extended to 15 days when in Bluetooth mode and 3 days when in standalone eSIM mode.

There are 97 sports modes on the Watch 5, including 12 professional and 85 custom modes. Additionally, it has an AI fat reduction assistant that tracks calorie deficits and modifies meal recommendations to help users manage their weight. More than 5000 watch faces are available for users to select from, including dynamic themes like game-based aquarium faces that reveal new elements every 3,000 steps.

Cost and Availability

Morning Gold, Obsidian Black, Pine Green, Moonlight Grey, and Snow White are the five color possibilities for the Honor Watch 5. The Pine Green, Moonlight Gray, and Snow White models cost 1,199 yuan ($169), while the Morning Gold and Obsidian Black versions cost 999 yuan ($140).

The smartwatch is available for purchase through Honor’s official website and select retail partners in China.
