Launching in India on October 3, 2024, is the three-row EV9.
Fast 800V charging is included with the SUV, allowing for a 239 km increase in range in just 15 minutes. Aside from premium amenities, the EV9 also has the Highway Driving Pilot (HDP) technology, which enables conditional Level 3 autonomous driving in some regions.
The Kia EV9 closely resembles its conceptual equivalent, using the same “Opposites United” design language. Wheel options include 21-inch, 20-inch, and 19-inch diameters, and it has a 3.1-meter wheelbase. 1.98 meters in width, 1.75 meters in height, and 5.01 meters in length make up the SUV. There are two different seating arrangements available: six and seven.
The Kia EV9 is scheduled to arrive in the nation via the CBU route, and its seven-seater version will be available in fully loaded trims. Many awards have been given to the e-SUV all over the world. The EV9’s exterior features the distinctive “Star Map” LED daytime running lights, vertical headlamps, a digital pattern lighting grille, and the iconic “Digital Tiger Face” with two clusters of tiny cube lamps.
The GT Line trim’s unique black color scheme makes it stand out. The EV9, according to Kia, has an aerodynamic coefficient of just 0.28 thanks to integrated air curtains in the front bumper, aerodynamic wheels, and the brand’s first-ever 3D-sculpted underbody cover.
The EV9’s first row features relaxation chairs that are optimized for comfort, and the second row has four different seating arrangements. Turning the seats 180 degrees makes it simpler to communicate with those in the third row. There are several eco-friendly materials used in the interior, which is jam-packed with features.
Performance-wise, the regular RWD model has a battery capacity of 76.1 kWh. The AWD and RWD Long Range models both have a larger 99.8 kWh battery. With its 150 kW/350 Nm electric motor, the RWD Long Range variant can go from 0 to 100 kmph in 9.4 seconds.
With a more potent 160 kW/350 Nm powertrain, the Standard RWD completes the identical task in 8.2 seconds. The dual-motor configuration of the AWD variant produces a combined output of 283 kW and 600 Nm of torque. It takes about six seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph. The combined torque may also be increased to 700 Nm with the optional Boost feature, which helps to cut the 0-100 kmph time down to seven tenths of a second.
