A new keyboard named the B1 Pro has been introduced in the Chinese market by Keychron, a company well-known for its configurable mechanical keyboards. Earlier this year, in May, the keyboard was released worldwide.

Details for the Keychron B1 Pro:

The B1 Pro is perfect for carrying in a briefcase or backpack because it weighs only 425 grams (0.94 lbs) and has a streamlined 75% layout design with a body thickness of just 5.2mm. Twelve multimedia keys are among the keyboard’s 77 total keys.

Spherical keycaps on the keyboard are intended to match the natural curvature of the finger to enhance comfort and accuracy when typing. To improve ergonomics even more, scissor-switch keys with a 3.2° tilt angle are included.

Those that switch between several devices are catered to with the B1 Pro. With options for wired Type-C, Bluetooth 5.2, and 2.4 GHz, it provides a flexible connectivity solution. Connecting to three devices at once with Bluetooth 5.2 is ideal for people who use tablets, laptops, and desktop computers. With a polling rate of 1000 Hz, the 2.4 GHz connection is ideal for low-latency gaming or scenarios where the quickest response time is required.

The B1 Pro’s multi-platform flexibility makes it suitable for a diverse variety of consumers. It is fully compatible with Windows and Linux and provides a Mac layout. With the extra benefit of improved tactile feedback from the scissor-switch keys, it offers Mac users a familiar experience with the same multimedia and function key functionality as Apple keyboards.

Keychron provides a proprietary web-based driver for Mac, Windows, and Linux that makes customization of the B1 Pro easy. With the driver, users can customize keyboard layouts, remap keys, and create macros for more efficient operations.

With the B1 Pro, Keychron promises an amazing 1200 hours of battery life on a single charge. With five hours of typing a day, this equates to about eight months of use, therefore removing the need for continuous charging.

Cost and Availability

The Keychron B1 Pro keyboard costs 238 Yuan ($33) and can be purchased on Tmall in China right now.
