The X50 Ultra, Motorola’s newest smartphone, has recently been released in China. This release comes after it was first offered in international markets under the moniker Edge 50 Ultra.

The X50 Ultra has a huge 6.7-inch OLED screen with 2712 x 1220 pixel resolution. This panel has a 10-bit color depth and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. In addition, it has DC dimming and HDR 10+ features, and its maximum brightness is 2500 nits.

With an IP68 dust and water resistant rating and a strong metal frame, the phone is also incredibly robust. On the front, it also has a durable Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. Consumers can order it with Peach Fuzz—this year’s Pantone Color of the Year—and a back composed of genuine Nordic wood, as well as vegan leather in Forest Grey.

It is powered by the potent Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC and comes in a range of configurations, with 12GB or 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB UFS 4.0 storage as standard. The phone runs an operating system based on Android 14.

The X50 Ultra is a camera for photography enthusiasts. It has three cameras: a 64MP telephoto with f/2.4 aperture and 3X zoom, a 50MP ultra-wide with a 122-degree field of view and f/2.0 aperture that includes a macro option, and a 50MP primary camera with f/1.6 aperture with OIS. Additionally, the gadget offers Super Zoom up to 100x. Its front-facing 50MP autofocus selfie camera features an f/1.9 aperture.

With a 4500mAh capacity, the battery supports 50W wireless charging, 125W TurboPower fast charging, and 5W reverse charging. The X50 Ultra has connectivity options including Dual 4G VoLTE, 5G SA/NSA, Wi-Fi 7 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C. It also has dual speakers with Dolby Atmos tuning and Dolby Head Tracking functionality.

Cost and Accessibility

The 12GB + 256GB model costs 3999 yuan (about $553), the 12GB + 512GB model costs 4299 yuan ($595), and the 16GB + 1TB model costs 4699 yuan ($650).

The X50 Ultra will formally go on sale in China on May 24th, but it is currently available for pre-order.
