Motorola’s Edge 20 Fusion smartphone has finally received the Android 13 upgrade, albeit this release came much later than that of many rivals. With a 1.64GB download size, the update offers features including customizable apps, an updated media player, and fine-grained notification management.

Update for Motorola Android 13: What’s new

You’ll observe many enhancements to the Android operating system and applications following the update. You may now further customize your phone thanks to the expansion of customization choices. By pressing and holding a vacant area on your home screen and choosing “Personalize,” you can now customize app icons to match your wallpaper.

You can now add and view more information with the upgraded expanded Adapt version of the Moto Widget on your home screen. Drag the current widget to the top of the screen and drop it on “Remove” to go back to the previous version or select a new one. After that, touch and hold the home screen, choose “Moto Widget” from the list of widgets, and drag the desired version to your screen.

You can use the settings to alter the language that your phone uses for apps that are supported. With the ability to modify notification permissions and restrict photo and video sharing inside individual apps, you also have more control over privacy and notifications.

You may now quickly enable or disable gestures by accessing the Gestures menu, which was previously located under Settings > System > Gestures. Improved control and customization possibilities are offered by these improvements.

Although users of the Edge 20 Fusion will be happy to hear this upgrade, Motorola’s sluggish software update schedule is brought to light. Since Android 15 betas are already being tested by other manufacturers, Motorola’s strategy seems slow. Having said that, since the Edge 20 Fusion debuted with Android 11 preinstalled back in 2021, this upgrade is probably the only one it will receive.
