Nothing a London-based smartphone manufacturer, has released the Headphone (1), its first over-the-ear headphones. Following Nothing’s initial foray into audio gear last year with the release of the Ear 2 open-ear headphones, the new gadget comes next.
With the sleek, transparent style for which Nothing has become renowned, the new Headphone (1) headphones were created in partnership with the British audio company KEF. Although the gadget itself is somewhat large, particularly for an over-the-ear headset, it has transparent modes and sufficient adaptive noise cancellation.
When listening to a range of musical genres, this model’s adaptive bass amplification was also noticeable.
The headphones also provide engrossing spatial audio. When combined with dynamic head tracking, this produces a 3-D listening experience that makes the sound more realistic.
The tactile buttons are a standout feature. A volume roller that can also be used to play, pause, and turn on and off noise cancellation, as well as a straightforward button to activate your AI assistant or ChatGPT if you have the Nothing X app, replaced the sensors.
The over-ear noise-canceling headphones have a quite good battery life, which is standard. You can listen for up to 80 hours without noise cancellation and up to 35 hours at moderate volume levels. With ANC turned on, battery life is reduced to 30 hours while using the LDAC audio codec. With ANC turned on, you can obtain 2.4 hours of battery life on a 5-minute charge.
The Headphone (1) will go on sale for preorder in the United States, the United Kingdom, and other countries on July 4, 2025 For $299.
