Designed and Exhibited by Motorola Edge 50 Ultra
With a square camera island that houses three camera lenses, the phone’s design is strikingly similar to that of the recently released Edge 50 Pro. There are three different finishes for the smartphone: Forest Grey, Peach Fuzz, and Nordic Wood, which have a real wood back with a little wood scent injected into it. Each of the three alternatives has an aluminum frame that has been sandblasted.
The Edge 50 Ultra has a 6.7-inch LTPS pOLED display with a peak brightness of 2,500 nits, a refresh rate of 144 Hz, and a resolution of 2,712 x 1,220 pixels. The screen’s 93.8% screen-to-body ratio, 20:9 aspect ratio, and HDR10+ compatibility. It is validated by Pantone and spans the entire DCI-P3 color space. The display is shielded by 3D Corning Gorilla Glass Victus with an anti-fingerprint coating and has an integrated fingerprint sensor for security.
Activity
The smartphone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 CPU under the hood, and it has 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage and 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. With 125W cable charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W wireless power sharing, its 4,500 mAh battery can handle a lot of power. Its x-axis vibrating motors provide haptics, and its two stereo speakers are calibrated for Dolby Atmos sound quality.
Regarding connectivity, the phone comes in single-SIM and dual-SIM versions, supporting both SIM and eSIM. Single-SIM models can use either SIM or eSIM. The smartphone also features Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 7. Additionally, the phone supports NFC. The Edge 50 Ultra’s operating system, which is based on Android 14, has intriguing features like edge light, which notifies you of incoming calls, notifications, and alarms.
Camera
The Edge 50 Ultra has a triple camera arrangement on the rear for photography, consisting of an f/1.6 lens with OIS and omnidirectional focusing, as well as a 50MP 1/1.3″ sensor. It also features a 50MP ultra-wide camera with a 122° field of view and autofocus for macro photography, in addition to a 64MP periscope camera sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. Both make use of a 3-in-1 sensor for exposure, auto white balance, and flicker detection, as well as a laser autofocus technology.
The front camera features an f/1.9 lens and a 50MP sensor with autofocus. Every camera can capture 4K video at 60 frames per second. 1080p slow-motion modes are also available (120 frames per second for the front, up to 960 frames per second for the rear).
A plethora of shooting modes, including 360° Panorama, Portrait, Macro, Long Exposure, Timelapse, Dual Capture, Ultra-Res, Night Vision, Tilt-Shift, Pro, Spot Color, and Scan (facilitated by Adobe Scan), are available with the camera system. In addition, the camera is compatible with AI functions such as Google Lens integration, Action Shot, Auto Smile Capture, Color Optimization, Smart High Resolution, and Style Sync.
