It seems like YouTube is making every effort to satisfy its paying subscribers and draw new ones to its Premium service. The Google-owned site is now providing minigames to its Premium customers in addition to ad-free watching. A brand-new, innovative feature on the platform called YouTube Playables allows you to play games while watching videos.
September saw Google launch the Playables feature on YouTube for the first time. The feature has been in an experimental phase ever since. However, YouTube Premium subscribers may now access it. With the help of this new feature, Premium customers may now play a variety of online games straight on the desktop or mobile app. For Premium users, there’s no need to download or install any software to play 37 minigames that are perfectly incorporated into the YouTube experience.
Users on YouTube are reportedly being informed about the new Playables function. Many YouTube Premium customers reportedly received a notification concerning Playables last week, according to a report by Droid Life. Users that have opted in are able to play a number of minigames on the platform. According to the report, there are a number of arcade games and well-known titles including Angry Birds Showdown, Brain Out, Daily Solitaire, The Daily Crossword, and Brain Out among the Playables selection. These games are not excessively complicated or specialized.
The games’ accessibility, though, might be restricted. The message from YouTube Premium states that the games are available until March 28th, 2024. Meanwhile, Premium subscribers get full access to the library of games via the Explore tab’s “Playables” section.
How to Get Playables on YouTube
A large number of people have already been given access to YouTube Playables since their launch. Its availability has also been confirmed by India Today Tech. The procedure for obtaining Playables is easy and clear for YouTube Premium customers.
After you finish these steps, the YouTube app will open and you will be able to access the new games section, which includes YouTube Playables. Please be patient if you haven’t received the update yet; it can take a few more weeks for everyone to receive it. There are currently mobile apps for iOS and Android that offer YouTube Playables.
In the meantime, Netflix has also added in-app games to its lineup of platforms, so users are not limited to just watching videos.
