The Redmi Book 14/16 2024 notebooks were first made available by Xiaomi in its own nation in November of last year. Later on, the machine’s manufacturer also unveiled a somewhat reduced model, which included a lower-resolution screen, a smaller battery, and an i5 chip that was built in 2012 rather than 2013. The identical configuration of the subsequent model (with an i5-12450H) was priced at 3,399 yuan (~$475) upon launch, but the previous version (16GB RAM + 512GB) had a price tag of 4399 Yuan (1,621).

The 12th gen i5 model gets a price cut

Priced at 3,036 yuan (~$422), the Redmi Book 16 2024 is a 12-generation model. Furthermore, it has been claimed that members are eligible for an additional 7.59 yuan discount, along with support for two times recompense for expensive purchases.

A refresh rate of 60Hz is supported by this display, which has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels (16:10). Peak brightness of up to 300 nits, 100% coverage of the sRGB color gamut, DC dimming, and Dolby Vision compatibility are all supported.

With a maximum turbo clock of 4.4GHz for the performance core, the 12th generation Intel Core i5-12450H processor has 8 cores and 12 threads. The 47W TDP laptop is included. The i5 processor is matched with a 1TB PCle 4.0 high-speed SSD and 16GB LPDDR5 5200MT/s dual-channel high-frequency memory. Moreover, an extra M.2 slot on this system allows for storage expansion.

In contrast to the 13th generation model, it weighs 1.63 kg instead of 1.68 kg and has a smaller 56 Wh battery. It does, however, have a 100W GaN power adaptor and the same 15.9mm thickness. Notably, Xiaomi’s HyperOS connect feature, which powers the ecosystem features of the company, is equipped with this laptop.

The following ports are included with the laptop:

HDMI 2.1
2 X USB-1 3.2 Gen 1
USB-C 3.2 Gen 2

3.5mm headphone jack
