Xiaomi is set to introduce its next-generation tablet, the Redmi Pad Pro 5G, in India on July 29. This new tablet will have specifications mirroring the global version and will be available in three colors: Graphite Gray, Mint Green, and Ocean Blue. The Redmi Pad Pro 5G features a larger display, an enhanced battery, and several new functionalities compared to its predecessor, the Redmi Pad.

The upcoming Redmi Pad Pro sports a 12.1-inch display with a pixel density of 249 ppi and a 120Hz AdaptiveSync refresh rate. The screen reaches a peak brightness of 600 nits and is certified by TœV Rheinland for low blue light. For added durability, it is protected by Gorilla Glass 3.

Under the hood, the tablet is powered by a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 1.5TB. It is equipped with an 8MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera, along with quad speakers that support Dolby Atmos for a superior multimedia experience.

Xiaomi HyperOS, which is built on top of Android 14, powers the Redmi Pad Pro. For connectivity, it includes optional 5G support, Wi-Fi 6, GPS, and Bluetooth v5.2, with 5G cellular connectivity being a standout feature. The device is powered by a 10,000mAh battery that supports 33W wired charging, which Xiaomi claims can provide up to 12 hours of video playback.

Redmi has also enhanced its software capabilities, focusing on stronger interconnectivity between Redmi devices. The Xiaomi HyperOS introduces features such as Shared Clipboard, Network Sync, and iPhone-like phone mirroring to the tablet. Additionally, it supports accessories like the Redmi Pad Pro Keyboard and the Redmi Smart Pen, which offers 4096-level pressure sensitivity and a 240Hz touch sampling rate.

Already available in China, the Redmi Pad Pro is expected to come with up to 8GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage, a microSD card slot, nano SIM support, 8MP front and rear cameras, and support for 33W fast charging. In China, the 128GB variant is priced at CNY 1,999 (approximately Rs 22,970), and the 256GB variant is priced at CNY 2,399 (approximately Rs 27,560). However, the pricing for the Indian market may be more competitive.
