To help consumers find problems with their Pixel phones, Google is releasing a diagnostic tool. By entering ##7287## on the dial pad, users can launch the app and check if their Pixel phone is operating properly before or after a repair. The app provides a number of diagnostic resources. To find problems with their Pixel device, users can run a full diagnostic test or select specific tests for hardware flaws, display issues, sensor functionality, and connectivity issues. All Pixel phones can use this new English-language feature.
As you may remember, Google and iFixit worked together last year to develop improved repair features that were intended to make fixing phones on Google devices easier. In order to speed up the repair process and provide consumers with peace of mind, these changes prioritize privacy, accessibility, and user-friendly instruction.
“In order to give you the most experience possible, we’re dedicated to making investments in the lifetime of our products and repair solutions for Pixel devices. Google Director of Devices and Services Steven Nickel said in a statement, “We’ve launched a partnership with iFixit in 2022, so it’s easier to buy genuine Pixel parts and repair your phone with a professional or do it yourself (DIY).” Google has also provided seven years of software and hardware support for the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro.
“More repair features are being added, so you can feel secure knowing that your phone will be fixed if necessary. We are enhancing the repair process in three ways: by protecting your privacy, offering user-friendly guides, and facilitating simpler access to components and fixes,” Nickel continued.
The Pixel Repair Mode function is intended to protect users’ privacy by blocking access to their device’s data while repairs are being made. The necessity for laborious backups, wipes, and restores is removed by this procedure.
You can use this function to protect your private information, give your device to be repaired, and deactivate it when it is brought back. An essential step in protecting privacy and accelerating the repair process is to use Pixel Repair Mode.
“You may now use the Phone App on your Pixel phone to launch the Pixel Diagnostic App in addition to the Pixel software update and repair site. This enables you to check for problems with your device both before and after repairs. Once it’s fixed, you can quickly determine whether your phone is operating correctly.
Google Help is an excellent place to start for all of your repair-related questions. We’ve made updates to our Help page so you may now access tools and guidelines for doing your own Pixel repairs. Additionally, you may learn how to perform diagnostic tests, examine repair manuals, order parts from iFixit, and buy any tools or parts you might require,” said Nickel.
