More information regarding the Vivo X100 Pro+ or Vivo X100 Ultra camera flagship, which is anticipated to be released in 2024, has been leaked. The triple cam with 4.3x optical zoom looks to be highly adaptable and capable of reaching absurdly high digital zoom levels, according to a prototype.
A few months ago, Samsung hinted at the potential of a 200 megapixel sensor housed behind a telescopic lens. There isn’t currently a smartphone that has a zoom camera with this level of quality, but if many leakers are to be believed, this will change in 2024. Recently, new details regarding the top model in the Vivo X100 series—which may be released in 2024 and go by the names Vivo X100 Pro+ or Vivo X100 Ultra—have been revealed by Chinese Weibo user Digital Chat Station.
The leaker (see also screenshot below) claims that it will pair a 4.3x telephoto lens with a roughly 1/1.5 inch 200 megapixel sensor, most likely from Samsung; at the very least, Vivo is currently testing this arrangement. In addition to being perfect for portrait photography, the resulting equivalent focal length of 100mm should push digital zoom to unprecedented levels.
In particular, the 10x zoom produces nearly optical quality through cropping; this combination should even enable up to 200x digital zoom. Naturally, time will tell how well these zoom shots turn out in the end. It is doubtful whether Vivo will formally release this zoom monster outside of China, even if it does indeed hit the market in 2024.
