Lenovo has unveiled its upcoming 10th-generation Legion 9i gaming laptop, which is set to debut soon in China and is expected to arrive in North America later this fall. This 18-inch powerhouse is equipped with high-end hardware, featuring an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor, Nvidia RTX 5090 GPU, up to 192GB of RAM, and as much as 8TB of SSD storage. Among its standout features is an optional 4K display capable of both 2D and 3D output, making it one of the most technically advanced gaming laptops to date.

Pricing details remain under wraps for now, with Lenovo withholding information even on the base configuration. However, users won’t be restricted to pre-configured options, as the laptop offers easy access to four RAM and four SSD slots for customized upgrades. The optional dual-mode display supports a resolution of 3840 x 2400 at 240Hz in 2D mode and 1920 x 1200 in 3D mode. When set to 1920 x 1080 in 2D, it can achieve an ultrafast 440Hz refresh rate. Viewing 3D content doesn’t require special glasses, thanks to the integration of eye-tracking technology and a lenticular lens system, offering a glasses-free 3D experience tailored for professionals in game development, visual arts, and 3D design, alongside gaming enthusiasts with deep pockets.

Lenovo’s software supports 3D gameplay in at least 30 titles, including Cyberpunk 2077, Forza Horizon 5, Genshin Impact, God of War Ragnarök, and Black Myth: Wukong. In terms of connectivity, the Legion 9i is well-equipped with two Thunderbolt 5 ports, four USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports (three Type-A and one Type-C), HDMI 2.1, an ethernet port, and a full-size SD card reader. Wireless connections are supported via Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. The webcam differs slightly depending on the display; the 2D version includes a 5-megapixel f/2 lens, while the 3D version gets an f/1.6 lens, with both featuring a privacy kill switch on the laptop’s side.

Visually, the Legion 9i sports a distinctive design with a carbon fiber lid crafted from eight layers, which Lenovo claims is both stronger and lighter than aluminum. Each lid has a subtly unique pattern, making no two units exactly the same. While the price remains a mystery, this unique construction and the laptop’s powerful configuration set it apart in the world of oversized gaming machines.
