Samsung Electronics has made a wide range of Galaxy smartphones and tablets compatible with One UI 6.1 and Galaxy AI features. Galaxy AI, also referred to as the top-tier major update to the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 launched back in October 2023, made its debut alongside the flagship Galaxy S24 series. However, it is now available for the Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4 foldable devices, and the Galaxy Tab S8 series of tablets.
All users worldwide will now have access to Samsung One UI 6.1 Galaxy AI’s advanced functions.
This means that the Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, and the Galaxy S8 series of tabs will all get access to Circle’s search capabilities with Google, as well as its chat, interpreter, live translation, taking notes, transcription, browsing, generative editing, edit suggestion, and AI-generated wallpaper features.
In case you missed it, Samsung recently disclosed that the One UI 6.1 update will start rolling out in the US on March 28 for the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Galaxy Z Flip 5. The update was also reputedly going to be released for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series. Most users were reportedly supposed to receive the update in April, according to the handset manufacturer.
Remember when the tech giant from South Korea first stated that Galaxy AI features would be available on more handsets at the beginning of March?
Meanwhile, a few of users reported experiencing touchscreen problems with their Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra models after the release of an AI-focused software update. After updating to One UI 6.1, some customers have even reported that their screens completely stopped responding to touch inputs. On April 3, Samsung formally acknowledged the issue and provided a solution. The South Korean company said that compatibility issues with specific Google app features were the cause of the problem.
