1. Nissan MPV

Nissan plans to reenter the Indian MPV market subsequent to the Evalia’s termination. Thanks to the Renault-Nissan cooperation, the new MPV will be a tiny vehicle based on the Renault Triber, unlike the Evalia. The strong design language of the Magnite could serve as an inspiration for the next Nissan MPV.

There may be changes made to the interior layout, but the feature list should stay the same. The MPV’s 1.0-liter normally aspirated gasoline engine and turbocharged unit, which provide 71 horsepower and 96 Nm of torque and 100 horsepower and 160 Nm, respectively, are expected to remain the powertrain options. There will be options for both manual and automatic gearboxes in the transmission.

    2. Kia Carnival New Generation

In 2024, the newest Kia Carnival is scheduled to make its Indian premiere. It has a major facelift influenced by the EV9, with a bigger grille, vertically stacked LED headlights, and L-shaped DRLs. It is expected to cost between Rs 35 lakh and Rs 45 lakh. It boasts new L-shaped tail lights and 18-inch alloy wheels.

It is anticipated that the Carnival’s 2.2-liter, four-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine—which generates 200 horsepower and 440 Nm—along with its eight-speed automated transmission would remain. Its interior will have a two-screen infotainment system, fewer buttons on the center console, and three different seating arrangements (four, seven, and nine seats).

Advanced technologies like an ADAS suite, eight airbags, OTA updates, a head-up display, and two 12.3-inch displays are all included.

      3. Maruti Suzuki Compact MPV

According to reports, Maruti Suzuki is developing the YDB, a small MPV that will sit below the Ertiga and compete with the Renault Triber. It will have a tiny design and be small in size, probably modeled by the Spacia, which is only available in Japan. Because of Kei vehicle rules, the Japan-spec Spacia has a modest 660cc engine as standard. But in India, YDB is anticipated to use the new Swift’s 1.2-liter Z series gasoline engine, along with a possible hybrid option that hasn’t been revealed yet for the Fronx hybrid. Options for both manual and automatic gearboxes are anticipated.

In Maruti Suzuki’s lineup, the YDB will be positioned beneath the XL6 and Ertiga. It’s unclear if the Indian version will have amenities like the rear seats in the Spacia’s ottoman form.

      4. Kia Electric RV

Kia has announced that it is working on an electric recreational vehicle (RV) for India, with a possible 2025 or 2026 debut date. Kia’s Rs 2,000 crore investment and development resources set aside for creating new electric vehicles (EVs) exclusively for the Indian market may be used in this project.

With its spacious interior and practical features, this midsize MPV is designed to appeal to a broad spectrum of consumers. On a single charge, a driving range of more than 450 kilometers is anticipated.

        5. New Gen Kia Carens

In 2025, Kia plans to introduce an updated Carens MPV to the Indian market. The updated Carens is anticipated to provide new features while keeping its 6 or 7-passenger configuration, retaining its premium appeal over the Maruti Ertiga and the XL6.

The facelifted Carens is anticipated to come equipped with convenience and safety features like ADAS and a 360-degree camera system, which will increase its attractiveness to buyers who are concerned about their safety. It is anticipated that engine options won’t change. In addition to new lighting configurations, alloy wheel redesigns, and a reworked grille, the facelifted vehicle will also include updated visual elements that bring it into line with the current Kia design language.
