Microsoft has several events scheduled for the upcoming several months, so it looks like it will be a busy spring. In addition to an Xbox demonstration scheduled for early June and an event focused on work and Copilot this Thursday, Build is also expected to happen soon. May twenty one–twenty three is when the firm will have its main developer conference. It appears, however, that three days aren’t going to be enough to cover what Microsoft wishes to cover.

A private event is scheduled for May 20, the day before Build begins, and Engadget received an invitation from the firm. Though little details are available, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella promises to go deeper into the company’s “AI vision across hardware and software.” Reporters in presence will receive first access to the news and practical demonstrations; however, the briefing will not be streamed live.

It makes sense that Microsoft has a “AI vision” that includes both software and hardware, given recent claims that the corporation is preparing to launch its first “AI PCs.” At the very least, the business and commercial variants of the OLED Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 are anticipated to be available at this week’s presentation.

Though those are expected to feature major processing enhancements that will result in “huge performance and efficiency gains,” Windows Central reports that the consumer versions of the devices might not be available until later this spring. Upcoming CPUs with next-generation neural processing units are expected to be either Snapdragon X Elite or Intel Core Ultra.

More advanced AI functions, such on-device Copilot and a tool called AI Explorer, are said to be supported by these CPUs and will be added by Microsoft to Windows later this year. Some people have compared the latter to a searchable history of all the things you’ve carried out on a gadget.
