1. Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder-Based 7-Seater SUV

Next year, Toyota will introduce the 7-seater Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The Grand Vitara 7-seater vehicle, designated Y17, will serve as the basis for the SUV. Like its Maruti Suzuki equivalent, the Hyryder’s seven-seater SUV will be built on the well-known Global C platform and will have a longer wheelbase to make room for the third row of seats.

The well-known 1.5-liter K15C normally aspirated gasoline engine and the 1.5-liter powerful hybrid 3-cylinder Atkinson gasoline engine, when combined with a 177.6 V lithium-ion battery pack, would power the three-row SUV.

    2. Toyota Fortuner Hybrid

Last month, the Toyota Fortuner’s mild hybrid made its premiere in South Africa. The SUV is more economical because it is powered by the well-known 2.8-liter 1GD-FTV diesel engine and a 48V mild hybrid system. Toyota claims that the Fortuner MHEV uses 5% less fuel than the standard Fortuner 2.8 diesel.

The power output numbers are 500 Nm of peak torque and 201 horsepower. Both 2WD and 4WD versions are available, and the engine is paired to a 6-speed automated gearbox. It is anticipated that the Toyota Fortuner Hybrid will make its debut in 2025.

      3. Toyota Electric SUV

The mid-size electric SUV, which is based on the Maruti Suzuki eVX, is scheduled to go on sale in the second half of 2025, some six months after the Maruti counterpart’s launch. The 27PL skateboard electric architecture, which is shared with the eVX, will serve as the foundation for Toyota’s next electric SUV.

The EV SUV will have a wheelbase of 2,700 mm and a length of 4,300 mm, just like the eVX. Under the hood, the Toyota Urban electric SUV is anticipated to have two battery pack options: a 48kWh unit with an estimated 400-kilometer range and a larger 60kWh one with a projected 550-kilometer range on a single charge. In India, it’s anticipated that the electric SUV would be equipped with a single motor for front-wheel drive.
