HP publicly presented their newest AI-powered laptops, the OmniBook 5 series, at Computex 2025. These next-generation PCs are designed to enhance user experience through artificial intelligence and are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X and Snapdragon X Plus chipsets. Each model comes with an integrated neural processing unit (NPU), which is said to deliver up to 45 tera operations per second (TOPS) of AI computing performance. The laptops are available in two sizes – 14-inch and 16-inch – both featuring OLED displays. These machines also support external display output, allowing for a single 5K or dual 4K screen setup, and include a 1080p infrared (IR) webcam along with HP’s Fast Charge technology.

The HP OmniBook 5 lineup includes two models. The 14-inch variant starts at $799 (approximately Rs. 68,000), while the larger 16-inch version begins at $849 (around Rs. 72,500), both featuring the Snapdragon X chipset. They will officially go on sale starting July through HP.com, Best Buy, and Costco. Additionally, the 14-inch model will be made available to early buyers via Amazon and Micro Center in June. These AI laptops will be offered in a single color variant, Glacier Silver.

Both the 14-inch and 16-inch versions are equipped with high-resolution 2K OLED panels (1,920 x 1,200), delivering up to 300 nits of brightness and offering 95 percent DCI-P3 color gamut coverage. With ultra-low blue light emission, certified by TUV and Eyesafe Display standards, the displays offer a quick 0.02ms response time. The OmniBook 5 series supports configurations with up to eight-core Snapdragon X Plus X1P-42-100 processors clocked at 3.4GHz, an Adreno GPU, and up to 32GB LPDDR5x RAM combined with 1TB of PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD storage. AI acceleration is provided by the Qualcomm Hexagon NPU, while hardware-level security is guaranteed by a Trusted Platform Module (Firmware TPM).

Copilot+ capabilities and a unique Copilot+ key are included with these AI-focused laptops. Along with improvements to Windows Search and Paint’s Cocreator, preview mode now includes new features like Recall and Click-to-Do. HP also offers a built-in HP AI Companion to support functions like document processing and performance tuning. For video conferencing, a 1080p full HD IR webcam supports Windows Hello and includes a privacy shutter. Connectivity is robust with Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 6E (via Qualcomm FastConnect 6900), two USB Type-C ports with DisplayPort 1.4a, a USB Type-A port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Audio performance is powered by HP Audio Boost 2.0, dual speakers, and AI-backed noise suppression during calls. Both laptops house a 59Wh battery that supports 50 percent charging in just 30 minutes through a 65W adapter.
