According to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, Apple is already thinking about a new model for this year. The current iPad Air was released in March 2022.
Gurman stated that Apple may introduce the first Mac laptops equipped with the suspected M3 CPU in October in the most recent issue of his weekly Power On newsletter. He predicts that in October, Apple may introduce a new iMac, 13-inch MacBook Air, and 13-inch MacBook Pro.
Additionally, he claims that Apple is developing a new iPad Air model. He gave no further details, merely indicating that the model might have upgraded specifications. The spec bump would be slight, he had previously claimed.
The M1 chip, a 10.9-inch LCD screen, and a single main camera and front-facing camera are all features of the iPad Air 2022.
If we were to guess, we’d say that the upcoming iPad Air would be powered by the same M2 chip as the iPad Pros and might even contain a Thunderbolt connector.
Apple is unlikely to introduce new iPad Pro models this year, according to Gurman. The following version will most likely be released the following year. According to rumors, the iPad Pro models expected in 2024 will include OLED screens and the M3 processor.
The M3 processor will be built using TSMC’s 3nm manufacturing process, making it more powerful and energy-efficient than the M2, which is already incredibly fast. The production technology enables a higher chip density, allowing for the incorporation of additional processing cores.
It’s unclear whether Apple will conduct a special event to reveal these October items or if a press statement will be sufficient.
Before that, the business is anticipated to introduce the iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, and 15 Pro Max in September. The A17 chip in the Pro model will likewise be produced on the 3nm node, similar to the M3 chip.
